Iraqi Leader Saddam Hussein Announces the
Withdrawal of Iraqi Troops from Kuwait

On this day inn 1991, Saddam Hussein announced the withdrawal of troops from Kuwait during the Gulf War. The Gulf War was authorized by the United Nations after Iraq invaded and annexed Kuwait in August of 1990.
