Congress of the Confederate States of America
Adjurns for the Last Time

On this day in in 1865, the Congress of the Confederate States of America Adjurned. Less than a month later, on April 3, the Confederate Capital, Richmond, Virginia was captured by Union troops, forcing Confederate President Jefferson Davis to flee. Although that didn't officially end the war, the Congress of the CSA did not have another opportunity to assemble.
