On this day in 1945, the Battle of the Bulge ended. The Battle of the Bulge was a major German offensive
launched towards the end of World War II.
Officially named the Ardennes Offensive by the U.S. Army, it came to be known to the general public as the Battle
of the Bulge because of the shape of the incursion by the German forces into the Allies line. The Battle of the
Bulge was the bloodiest battle experienced by U.S. forces in World War II.
