July 17, 1955

Disneyland in California Opens

On this day in 1955, Disney Land opened in Anaheim, California. It was dedicated with a press preview on this day but did not open to the public until the following day.

The park has now been visited by more than 515 million guests and is now the second most visited park in the world only behind the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida.
