ON THIS DAY IN UNITED STATES HISTORY
September 16, 1920
The Wall Street Bombing Occurs
On this day in 1920, a horse drawn wagon filled with 100 pounds of dynamite and 500 pounds of cast-iron weights
exploded near the busiest corner of the financial district.
Thirty-eight persons were killed and 40 wounded. No one was ever convicted of the crime but the FBI stated later
that most likely it was the work of Italian Anarchists.
