United States Congress of Confederation
Ratifies Peace Treaty with Britain in the
American Revolutionary War

On this day in 1784 the U.S. Congress of Confederation ratified the Treaty of Paris (1783) which was signed September 3, 1783.

Although the American Revolutionary War officially ended when the treaty was signed, this was the final step in the process. The last British troops had already left New York City on November 25, 1783.
