A Hurricane Strikes Galveston, Texas

On this day in 1900, one of the most deadly hurricane's in U.S. history struck Galveston, Texas. Approximately 8,000 lives were lost. In comparison, Hurricane Katrina claimed the lives of approximately 1,800.
