The United States Congress Passes
The Reconstruction Acts

On this day in 1867, the Reconstruction Acts, made up of four statutes, passed by the United States Congress.

The Reconstruction Acts set up a structure for states to rejoin the Union after the American Civil War and gave voting rights to all men.
